This slightly longer wavelength analog of 4-methylcoumarin (4-MU) has a pKa that more closely matches physiological pH values.

This fluorophore is useful for measuring the pH at physiological values. Also useful as a blue emitting fluorescent standard for various specific substrates including M0252 and M0522.
