Description:
Cleavage product: Upon enzymatic or chemical hydrolysis of the galactoside group, dexamethasone is produced.

Application:
Dexamethasone is a useful inducer of gene expression when combined with a dexamethasone-inducible promoter system, and is also a potent glucocorticoid anti-inflammatory. Dexamethasone has also been used as an inducer of apoptosis in tumor cells.
