Description:
This pyrene derivative is useful for labeling amine groups of proteins, peptides or other compounds (drugs), and has unusual pH dependent fluorescence properties and pKa changes, after conjugation. 8-hydroxy-1,3,6-trisulfonate-pyrene (HPTS) is often called a "photoacid" because it can be transformed by light from a weak acid into a strong acid.
