Description:
Can be used as a reversible inhibitor of the erythrocyte calcium pump as well as an effective phosphorescent probe in protein rotational studies.

Note:
Eosin derivatives also exhibit phosphorescence with an emission maximum at ~680 nm.

Application:
Eosin derivatives are also used in diaminobenzidine photo-oxidation processes and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET).
