Description

FDA is one of the most widely-used green fluorogenic substrates for esterase activity. FDA is also a common viability stain for plant cells, protoplasts and tissues.

Upon esterase cleavage of this highly purified probe, fluorescein is released producing a green fluorescence that can be read using standard FITC filter sets.
