    • Synthetic Organic Chemist


      Marker Gene Technologies, Inc. is currently recruiting a Synthetic Organic Chemist for a position in our Research, Development and Production Facilities on a full time basis. The position will be based in Eugene, Oregon. The qualified individual will work as a member of a team effort in the design and synthesis of new and existing products.


      Required Skills

    • B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemistry (preferred), Biology, Biochemistry or related science field.
    • Experience in Modern Organic Chemical Synthesis, Low and Medium Pressure Liquid Column Chromatography Purification, Thin-Layer Chromatography, Crystallization, Fluorescence and UV Analysis Methods, HPLC Methods Development and Analysis, Proton and Carbon-13 NMR Analysis.

Senior Research Scientist - Biology


Marker Gene Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Research Scientist in our Cell Biology Product Development Department. The position will be based in Eugene, Oregon. The successful candidate will help drive the development of our enzyme-based HTS analysis programs in mammalian cell culture as well as allied drug development activities. As such, this laboratory-based position will require cell biology expertise within project teams and the ability to participate in product development activities by providing timely interpretation of data/results. In addition, the individual will utilize first-hand experience as well as collaborations to contribute to research and product development from inception through commercial launch. The position will also involve working collaboratively with a broad group of technical and non-technical personnel, including scientists and engineers, as well as members of the marketing and sales departments.


Required Skills

  • PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, or related science with 0-3 years industrial (preferred) and/or post-doctoral experience; MS with 5-7 year relevant industrial experience; BS plus 10-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Prerequisite experience in cell biology and tissue culture techniques for culture of mammalian cell lines as well as leukocytes, hybridomas, bacterial, yeast and insect cells, including analysis and interpretation of cell culture metabolic activity using fluorescence microscopy, HTS and High-Content techniques.
  • Experience in statistical design of experiments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with mammalian cells at various experimental scales ranging from micro-titer plates to automated systems, including automated high throughput liquid handling systems.
  • Solid background in cell biology techniques, including cell based assays, flow cytometry and FACS analysis, microscopy, media and process development.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to work efficiently and independently to accomplish project objectives.

  • Administrative Assistant - Marketing

 

Marker Gene Technologies, Inc., is currently recruiting for a position in our business and marketing departments. This position will report directly to the Marketing Director and Chief Administrative Officer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, executing and monitoring effective online marketing campaigns, specifically using both email and search engine optimization as delivery vehicles for obtaining targeted leads and sales opportunities. Experience in developing and implementing online marketing strategies to achieve sales goals, performing in-depth quantitative analyses of marketing campaigns, search engine optimization, analyzing and reporting customer data utilizing available analytical tools, assisting customers achieve their product goals by utilizing additional company products and services, and providing frequent progress reports regarding online marketing efforts and performance metrics will be required. The candidate will act as the face of the company to our customers ensuring that all company products and services are represented correctly and meet customer expectations. Additional Requirements: The ability to work in a team environment and share responsibilities. The incumbent must be willing and able to travel.

Preferred Qualifications: Possession of an established network of industry contacts in drug discovery arenas. Experience in starting a new company or division within a service-based business. Possession of the ability and vision to streamline processes, to establish new products in the marketplace.
