pH Sensor

Marker Gene Technologies, Inc. offers a selection of dyes useful for cellular or biochemical analysis of pH changes. They include the widely used free-acid fluorescent pH indicator BCECF for cellular and in vitro applications. The AM-ester derivative is membrane permeable and useful for staining live cells. Other offerings in this collection are useful for general labeling of cells, tissues and lysosomes. One key application is the internalization and associated signal change upon pH shift when reactive forms are conjugated to receptors that down regulate their function with internalization and trafficking to acidic compartments, such as the GPCR (G-protein coupled receptor) family.
