About Our
Products Marker Gene
Technologies uses its proprietary position to develop new products and kits
that are used for detection or to exploit the enzyme activity of cloned
marker genes in vivo and in vitro. In addition to the standard
use of marker genes to monitor gene expression, we have developed a variety
of new products that utilize these cloned enzyme activities for intracellular
targeting of drugs and bioactive compounds. Among the current products for
sale are a variety of substrates linked to several common reporter genes
(i.e. the lac Z, GUS, luc and amp gene markers) for the
use in cell knockout, gene regulation, enzyme inhibition, selection, or cell
viability mechanisms. Marker Gene
Technologies is constantly developing new products for use with specific
marker gene expression systems. We therefore appreciate your input regarding
application(s) and marker gene systems you are currently using. E-mail your
suggestions to us. See our contact page for more information. Fluorescence
or Chemiluminescence Detection We develop new
probes for intracellular, tissue, and in vivo applications. In
addition, new probes that can be detected in the long wavelength regions of
the visible spectrum (600 nm+) or in the infrared regions of the spectrum (>700
nm) are in current demand for a variety of applications. Marker Gene
Technologies has a long-standing record of developing substrates for specific
enzyme activities or other measurements in vitro or in vivo. Please
inquire about our work in these areas.
We would like to work with you. Molecular Biology KITS for Marker Gene Detection Marker Gene Technologies
produces a variety of convenient kits for marker gene detection and
monitoring. Each kit comes complete with reagents, standards, instructions and
references. In addition, the staff at Marker Gene Technologies is always
available to answer questions and provide additional information. (0255) FACS lacZ b-Galactosidase Detection Kit The FACS lacZ b-Galactosidase Detection Kit allows highly sensitive
detection of b-galactosidase
activity in mammalian, yeast, bacterial, or plant cells using the fluorogenic
substrate 3-carboxyumbelliferyl-b-D-
galactopyranoside combined with Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS).
This kit provides reagents and protocol to perform up to 500 automated (10 x
96 well microtiterplate) assays. See
also product M0257, for more information. (0259) In vivo lacZ b-Galactosidase Intracellular Detection Kit Monitoring lacZ expression
(and therefore co- expressed genes or promoter efficiency) has become routine
to the point of detection of as few as 5 copies of b-galactosidase per cell. This kit uses the b-galactoside analog fluorescein di-b-D-galactopyranoside (FDG) in a protocol that sensitively
distinguishes lacZ+ cells from lacZ- cells.
See also product M0250, for more information. (0271) Membrane Fluidity Kit Membrane fluidity or
"membrane viscosity" has best been measured using lipid analog
probes that, when interacting, exhibit changes in their spectral properties.
The Membrane Fluidity Kit allows quantitative monitoring of membrane fluidity
in cell membranes, micelles, and vesicles through use of a lipophilic pyrene
probe. (0272) Carbohydrate Analysis/
Detection Kit Numerous native proteins
contain post- transcriptional glycosidic elaboration (sugars) whose
structures are dependent both on species and cell type. This Kit is capable
of quickly estimating and/ or comparing the composition of the carbohydrates
from these glycoproteins. The Kit provides reagents and protocols for
analyzing these carbohydrates through covalent labeling with a fluorescent
reagent (1,5- EDANS). (0276)b-Galactosidase
Sample Kit Our popular sample kit for
detection of b-Galactosidase
activity. Allows you to experiment
with different reagents for b -galactosidase
detection. Contains samples of each
of our products (M0250, FDG), (M0252, TFMU-Gal), (M0257, CUG), (M0203, Res-Gal), as well as the corresponding reference
compounds (M0041, M0202, and M0204). (0612) Fluorescent Lipase
Assay Kit Lipase activity,
ubiquitous among most cells, can be monitored using the new fluorescent
substrate kit that utilizes a fluorescent triglyceride 1,2,- dioleoyl- 3-
pyrenedecanoyl- rac- glycerol. Upon cleavage, the fluorescent fatty acid,
pyrene decanoic acid, is released and activity measurements are easily
obtained either in vitro, in cell preparations, or in vivo. (0626) Luciferase Assay Kit This kit contains D-
luciferin, the primary substrate of the firefly luciferase light producing
system, and the luciferase assay buffer (10mL, for a 1 mM reagent
concentration), enough to perform 1000 assays using a microtiterplate format
(100 uL reaction volume, 0.1 mM final reaction concentration). This product
is also available as a lyophilized powder D-Luciferin (M0237). |
