This kit utilizes an established green-fluorescent MitoTrackerGreen™ FM equivalent stain that localizes in mitochondria regardless of mitochondrial membrane potential to easily identify and quantify active mitochondria.
This type of staining has been widely used to monitor mitochondrial viability, fragmentation, damage or loss in a variety of pathologies including Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and cardiovascular diseases as well as for cell cycle, apoptosis, mitophagy, chemotaxis and morphogenesis analyses.
